Officer Salvatore Rivieri is a douche

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

A few months ago we had officer Joey Williams, now we’ve got officer Salvatore Rivieri. He handled this so poorly, I don’t even have words for it. He was definitely on some type of power trip. Salvatore not only disrespected the police force, he disrespected the city. Salvatore was right about one thing, he’s not a “dude”, but he’s also not a “man”. He is what I like to call a “douche bag”. Also, why is this “douche” getting paid time off? Seriously, why do police departments have to take months to investigate? You watch the tape, and then you fire the “douche”.

Cap Times Ditches the Daily

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

The Capital Times is ditching the environmentally unfriendly medium of newsprint, and will be transitioning to their already popular website. I personally think this move is a little premature since there is still a very large number of people that enjoy their newspaper. My guess is their numbers have gotten so bad, that this is more of cost cutting move. They will save money on printing the paper, but I also believe the move to online-only will also result in a lot of cutbacks, especially if they see a lot of “red”.

I applaud the Capital Times for making such a bold move, and plunging head-first into a new era of journalism for the paper. Unfortunately, I see a lot of people losing their jobs.

People are voting for Hillary for no good reason

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

I just don’t get it. Why are people voting for Hillary Clinton? Are they a gluten for punishment, or were the last eight years with GW not bad enough? It’s funny, the people that say they’re voting for Hillary typically have two reactions: 1) they’re voting for her because she’s a woman, and 2) they just look at me with a blank stare. Neither are good reasons. Some may argue she has more experience, but that just isn’t true. The truth is, they have no good reason for voting for Hillary Clinton, and deep down, they probably just want Bill back in the White House again.

I personally think, she is, BY FAR, not the best candidate, regardless of her gender. Before you vote, do yourself, and this country, a favor and do a little research. I hate to say it Dems, but if Hillary wins this primary, McCain will be the next president. I believe many of the voters that would typically vote Democratic, will go with the Republican, yet somewhat liberal, choice of McCain, including myself. I WILL NOT VOTE FOR HILLARY.

Barack Obama is my choice

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I’ve decided I’m voting for Barack Obama. I like everything that he has to say, he seems like a good person, and most importantly, he seems like the best candidate. I also like John Edwards, but he has zero chance and should bow out now. The question is, who will the Edwards voters vote for? My guess is Obama.

There is no chance in hell I’d ever vote for Hillary Clinton. Not because of her gender, but because I think she’s not a good candidate and she’s running a dirty campaign. The people that are actually voting for her right now seem to be women who, rightfully so, want a woman in the oval office, and/or people who really just want Bill Clinton to be their president.

If Hillary wins the democratic vote, I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I might have to vote for a Republican, especially if McCain is in the race. That sounds so sacrilege, but that’s how strongly I feel about Hillary Clinton’s shortcomings. I don’t think she’d be as bad as GW, but it would be the next worse thing to happen to this country. It’s time for change, and it starts with Obama.

Was Hillary’s Crying Moment a Calculated Event?

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

Yes. I have no doubt it was a calculated event. I believe her campaign felt she was slipping after getting destroyed in Iowa and needed a momentum swing. Obama and Edwards rattled her and made her look like a bitch, so crying was a means of showing her sensitive side, and it made other women feel bad for her.

So, let’s take a look…

She cracks up, but her face doesn’t look sad, and she doesn’t look tired as she says. The only thing she’s good at is bad acting. Do you notice what she says when she pretend cries? She says, “I have so many opportunities for this country”. I find that sentence a little odd. Shouldn’t it be, “we have so many opportunities for this country”?

Oh, poor Hillary, she was picked on by the big bad bully MALE candidates. Give me a break! Come on people, don’t fall for this lame attempt at winning votes. I want to vote for a mentally strong candidate that doesn’t crack under pressure. In Iowa she snapped, and in New Hampshire she cried. What’s next?

Hillary Clinton’s campaign run is over

Monday, January 7th, 2008

…and she doesn’t even know it yet. It’s become clear Edwards and Obama are way ahead of her in all aspects of the game. In fact, they’re making her look like an inexperienced amateur. She boasts 35 years of experience, but in actuality, what has she done? The answer is very little. The ONLY reason she has been able to become a senator and eventually run for president is because people like her husband.

I remember when Bill was campaigning and she promised us health care reform as the potential first lady. That never happened, and now she wants to run for president? No thanks!

Bill had experience, and a personality to boot. She has neither. Hillary has proven she cracks under pressure, and is kind of a bitch.

Hillary. You want change? Get some experience in politics, grow a personality, and quit riding your husband’s coattails.

Choking up because she knows it’s over

Now people are saying she’s staged the “Iron My Shirt” incident

Jessica Simpson is a Packer fan

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

I’m starting to wonder if Jessica Simpson is really a Packer fan. She seems to have shown up in Tony Romo’s life just in time for the playoffs. Woohoo! She went to her first game, which just so happened to be Romo’s worst game statistically to date. T.O. is starting to shoot his big mouth off about it, and there are rumblings that more Dallas players are upset about Simpson. If this continues, the Cowboys won’t even make it to the NFC Championship, let alone the Super Bowl.

Is Jessica a Packer fan? I doubt it, but she just may help out the Packers this post-season. Thanks Jess!

I’m training for a 5k run

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

I’ve been wanting to get back into shape, so I’m setting a goal for myself. I want to run a 5k this Spring, probably in May. For a lot of people, running 5k wouldn’t be a big deal, but it is to me. I was in a car accident in 2004 which earned me a dislocated ankle and my fibula being broken in two places on my right leg. It’s been a constant struggle for me to keep my weight down since it’s been difficult to workout with any regularity.

Ouch!!!

Things I need to do to make this happen:

  • Strengthen my legs, in particular my bad leg
  • Lose weight to take the stress off of my leg. I’m thinking 40-50 pounds should do it.
  • Gain endurance to run the entire 5k without stopping.

I’m not sure which run I’m going to do, but it’ll probably be for a good cause. Anyway, wish me luck.

Paper-version of Post is DOA

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Have you seen those empty Post paper stands? Well, they’re going to remain empty. I recently found out from a friend of mine at Capital Newspapers that the paper version of Post is done, and has been for many months. They supposedly took a break from the paper version when the college kids left town, but I think it was just a quiet way of ending the inevitable.

The idea of republishing blogs in a paper version was just foolish. Why have a publication that republishes blogs written by amateurs? They republished articles that were already published on the web, sometimes over a month out. It just didn’t make any sense, and their advertisers weren’t buying it.
