Badger Cal Poly debacle

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

The Badgers should be embarrassed. I will admit, Cal Poly was a lot better than I thought they’d be, but the Badgers almost got beat at home by a AA division football team. Actually, in my eyes, they did get beat. If Cal Poly’s kicker didn’t miss one those two missed extra points, the Badgers would have lost the game. Alvarez better do some soul searching and figure out what’s going on with the football program, or even he and his statue will be run out of town. I partially blame coaching, but you also have to blame recruiting. They simply don’t have the elite players they’ve had in the past. The question a lot of people are asking is, can Bielema win when it’s just the players his people have recruited. My guess is Alvarez will stick with Bielema, even though he sucked a big fat egg this season. Let’s hope for the best. Let’s hope the Badgers can bounce back from an embarrassing season that ended by almost getting beat at home by a AA division football team. That sounds bad, doesn’t it? That’s because IT IS bad!

Just Married

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I got married Saturday. My wife and I had been dating for over six years, and getting married was really the only thing left for us to do. We had a beautiful Fall day. The temperature was in the 60s, the sun was out, and there were still plenty of Fall leaves on the trees. We got married out at Badger Farms, which was perfect for us. It was a very intimate place, and to be honest, the place just kind of grabbed us. We didn’t have a wedding party. We thought it was silly to ask certain people, and not others, to be a part of a wedding party. Plus, it’s just wasteful spending and a stupid tradition. I wore a black suit, black tie, white shirt, and black Chuck Taylors. She wore a beautiful white dress. The food was catered in by Wisconsin River Meats from Mauston, and instead of cake, we had pie and cupcakes. We love music, so we got an awesome band from Milwaukee called Shag, which rocked the barn until about midnight. It was easily the best day of my life, and will never be forgotten.
