I’m training for a 5k run
I’ve been wanting to get back into shape, so I’m setting a goal for myself. I want to run a 5k this Spring, probably in May. For a lot of people, running 5k wouldn’t be a big deal, but it is to me. I was in a car accident in 2004 which earned me a dislocated ankle and my fibula being broken in two places on my right leg. It’s been a constant struggle for me to keep my weight down since it’s been difficult to workout with any regularity.
Things I need to do to make this happen:
- Strengthen my legs, in particular my bad leg
- Lose weight to take the stress off of my leg. I’m thinking 40-50 pounds should do it.
- Gain endurance to run the entire 5k without stopping.
I’m not sure which run I’m going to do, but it’ll probably be for a good cause. Anyway, wish me luck.
